Gerard O'Neill brings over thirty years experience in the cellular network industry. His incisive knowledge and understanding of cellular radio network design, construction, deployment and operations has been gained from a broad range of commercial, project & man management experiences.
His unique blend of solution development, business development & implementation in both business and technical environments, as well as an experienced hands-on fellow of the IET, is unrivalled in the industry.
As an active Fellow of the
Gerard is well known for his technical depth, both in research and solution application. He is experienced in working closely with numerous police forces and other security agencies regarding cellular network security and fraud and criminal issues. He is well versed in official documentation of requirements for hardware and supporting services and the successful negotiation of supply contracts, including pricing structures.
His hands on project management track record with proven budgetary management, including establishing required spend, ensuring accurate, quality delivery, has been gained with Leading Telecoms companies, such as Digicel Pacific, where he was part of the senior management team and Deputy Regional CTO. At Vodafone Group he was Technical Manager for Special Coverage Projects, including his role as Chairman of the UK Cellular Operators Multi-Operator Forum, including participation in agreement of cellular industry requirement guidelines for multi-operator special coverage systems.
Gerard spearheaded, instigated and organised important multi-operator projects, including the Heathrow to Paddington (HEX) coverage solution for all five UK Mobile Operators, the Bluewater shopping complex in Kent, the new Emirates Stadium in London, the Newcastle underground and, more recently, Heathrow Terminal 5.
